The most common one I hear people from out of town repeat is "The
Mistake by the Lake". However, this is hardly true. Cleveland
has come a long way since the Cuyahoga caught fire three years before I
was even born. Cleveland is also known as "The Forest City",
particularly this was common around the turn of the last century, with
more trees per capita than any other major metropolitan area in the
country. There is also "The North Coast". I have also heard
"The New American City", and "The Best Location in the Nation."
